The Rhyme Finder splits its results into two columns: perfect rhymes (words whose stressed syllable and everything after it sound identical — cat/hat/bat) and near rhymes (words that almost rhyme — cat/map, useful for raps and free verse where strict rhyme would sound forced). Both columns are audited against the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary so the matches are based on actual phonetics, not just spelling.
Designed for poetry month, song-writing units, and the rap battles that inevitably happen on long car rides. A first-grader writing a Mother's Day card can find a clean rhyme for mom in two seconds; a sixth-grader writing a hip-hop lyric for ELA class can pull near rhymes that won't sound forced.
