The Word Finder is the most flexible lookup tool in Word Hub. Instead of typing a single word, you give it constraints — length, starting letter(s), ending letter(s), letters it must contain, syllable count — and it returns every word in the 63,730-entry American-English dictionary that matches. Combine filters to narrow as far as you need: "6-letter words starting with th, ending in e, with 2 syllables" returns a handful of clean matches.
Designed for Scrabble Jr., Boggle, crossword help, spelling-unit prep, and the moment a kid is stuck on a clue and just needs to brute-force a possibility. Teachers use it to generate phonics-pattern word lists on the fly ("give me every 4-letter -ump word") without having to dig through a textbook.
Filters use URL parameters so any specific search can be bookmarked or shared as a link: ?len=5&starts=th&ends=e&syl=2. The result list is sortable and includes syllable counts and parts of speech where available, so it's both a search engine and a quick reference.
